Special Advisor

Dan serves as a Special Advisor to our Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer after most recently serving as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Investment Officer, and a member of its investment committee. Dan joined Horizon in 2004 and has more than 25 years of credit and portfolio management experience including more than 20 years in venture lending.

Earlier, Dan was a Vice President in General Electric Capital Corporation’s Life Science Finance Group, where he was primarily responsible for the underwriting and portfolio management of debt and equity investments to venture capital-backed life science companies. Prior to that, Dan was a Credit Manager at GATX Ventures, Inc., the venture lending subsidiary of GATX Corporation, and was a member of GATX’s international credit committee. Earlier in his career, Dan held roles with Citigroup, Advest, Inc. and Ironwood Capital. Dan earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Clark University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
